"Capturing the Essence of You"
The process of making a photograph of a person. Usually the person is looking directly at the camera. For me taking a persons photograph is what photography is all about. Sure landscapes and scenic's are an expression of beauty and art, but Portraiture is the same even more so. Taking someone's photograph and having it be an expression of beauty and art is everything.
I really enjoy doing a photo shoot of a person. It can be with studio lights and backgrounds or in can be an environmental. Showing them in their space. Having a dedicated time and space to create a portrait is important. It takes time to create rapport so that the essence of a person can be captured. For some it is easier than others. But, behind the masks we wear is our essence.
Lighting is everything. Setting the lighting in such a way to create the image is something that photographers have been doing since photography was started. I was first exposed to lighting as a science while in college. I remember my first portrait class. I also remember hours of practice learning to create a particular look and style.
So book a photo shoot today. Don't wait, we are as young as we are ever going to be right now.
